There are many different ways we can make sure we're taking good care of ourselves. Accessing health insurance is just one way to make sure we're setting ourselves up for success down the line.

By enrolling in health insurance, you save money or get free access to things like doctors visits, medications, and mental health services. The more you can build a relationship with a doctor you trust, the more you can make sure you're getting the things you need to prevent health crises down the road.

STEP #3: gather your documents

When you apply for MassHealth, they want to know that you live in Massachusetts, your immigration status,* and if you are financially eligible.

To prove these things, you need to show them the following documents:

Proof of Residence

Mass ID, Paystub, or a bill

Proof of Citizenship*

Birth Certificate or Passport

Proof of Income

Paystub

*If you have immigrant status, you are still eligible for MassHealth.
