QUALIFICATIONS:
Have a high school diploma or Hi-SET
Be at least 18 years old
Up to date vaccinations
Be able to pass a background check
Pass a drug test

Why work in the education field? If you are creative and have a genuine care for children working as a teacher might be a good fit for you. This is hands-on demanding job that requires a lot of energy and patience, but seeing the difference you can make in a child’s life is extremely rewarding. There are lots of opportunities in this profession, and jobs in this industry are expected to grow by over 5% in the next decade.
SCHOOL PROGRAMS:
Boston is host to a wide range of education schools in and around the city. From a two year Associate’s Degree program that will help you find work as a pre-school teacher or at a child care center, to a four year Bachelor’s Degree program that will help you find employment as a public school teacher, there are plenty of opportunities to explore!
Your Job Path
Teaching Assistant
Completion of a 2 to 4 month program that will get you ECE credits or lead to an ECE Certificate that will allow you to start working as a teaching assistant in a childcare center, pre-school, or as a paraprofessional

Lead Teacher or Director
Completion of a two year associate degree program at an accredited institution
